Week 30 – Double-crested Cormorant

Double-crested Cormorant. Photograph by Neil Paprocki.

This week is just a simple image of a Double-crested Cormorant I have been wanting to photograph for a while now at the Veteran’s Ponds in Boise. Every day a cormorant perches in this spot to sun and dry their wings after an early morning of diving after fish.

Even though the bird is small in the frame, I liked the background and reflection of late-summer colors in the early morning sunlight.

All of the previous 52-week blog posts can be found at the Wild Lens blog or on Flickr.
