Week 34 – American Redstart
August 28, 2013
American Redstart. Photograph by Neil Paprocki.
This may or may not be considered cheating but this bird was just too cool to pass up on.
I won’t normally post photos of birds in the hand, but I’m making this one exception for the year. The American Redstart is a rarity out west and this was most likely the first ever adult male redstart captured at the Idaho Bird Observatory’s Lucky Peak fall migration station!
Until next time.
